As long and as far left in the fairway as you can be — that should always be your mentality off the tee. This usually leaves something like a 3-wood cut into the green.
There’s also a mini-shortcut through the trees after a pretty standard long drive. After pounding your drive out there as best you can, you’ll usually still have to hit an A1 around the trees for your approach. First, take a look at the trees in line with the green — there’s a gap that allows you to work a 5-wood, or even a 3-wood, through the middle instead.
